about

Here is more lighthearted original song I wrote after a road trip out to Carbon Peak in Colorado with some friends of mine.

We'd been on the road awhile and finally got up to my friend's cabin. We stayed a few days out there. The weather was so beautiful and inspiring. Hanging out in the mountains just revitalizes my spirit and I wrote this song once I got back east.

The strange thing about Carbon Peak is it seems to be a huge glacial deposit so the mountain was actually made up of fist size rocks. This meant you could literally see into the mountain about 5-10 feet depending on the angle of the sun. It was the strangest mountain I've ever been on. It must've acted like a giant filter though because the cold mountain spring at the bottom of the cabin road was some of the best water I have ever drunk. We brought as much back with us as we could.

lyrics

Oh I haven't bathed
In near twenty days,
But I'm sitting on this mountain
Just a feeling fine.

And the weather's great,
And make no mistake,
I've been drinking up my liquor
Just to pass the time.

I sit and watch the rocks on the hill.
Nothing to do but sit nice and still.
I keep a fire burning low.
I like a life that's nice and slow.

I watch the birds fly by.
They soar so nice and high.
So much to see up here
Upon the mountain side.

I got a loyal dog,
And a comfy log,
And I sit here with my banjo
Just a strumming twine.

I sit and watch the rocks on the hill.
Nothing to do but sit nice and still.
I keep a fire burning low.
I live a life that's nice and slow.
